(TORONTO, Ontario) -- For generations, the question has been asked, "Can FAITH and SCIENCE coexist?" In the upcoming documentary film, God's Big Bang!, FaithWords author and award-winning filmmaker Joe Amaral explores the question and searches for the answer. It's God vs. the Big Bang Theory. Who will win?
God's Big Bang! investigates the question of whether faith and science can get along, or are they eternally destined to be sworn enemies. Does the Big Bang Theory automatically disqualify the possibility of an Intelligent Design by an omnipotent God? And does the belief in an Intelligent Design by an omnipotent God automatically disqualify the possibility of the Big Bang? This premise will serve as the driving force behind the film. Does the Holy Bible's description of creation fit with what we know from physics and science?
"I want to show people, not just through biblical references, but through physics and science, that the universe is too intricate to attribute to a random accident," says Amaral.
The documentary will be partially narrated, but will ultimately be host driven along with experts in their respective fields that will serve as contributors. Both secular and Christian physicists, scientists and astronomers will be interviewed, as well as priests, pastors, rabbis and atheists. Alternate theories of creation and the start of the universe will also be explored, and animation and NASA/Hubble footage will add to the graphically aesthetic nature of the film.
"I don't have enough faith to be an atheist and to believe that the universe spontaneously formed by chance," says Amaral. "There was a big bang, and it's recorded in Genesis 1. God spoke, and there was!"
A Kickstarter campaign has been launched to help fund the film, which is due for release in 2014. For more information, visit http://kck.st/17qN8TW.
